Ascend the moun­tain and trek along a new path to trans­for­ma­tion­al lead­er­ship. An endur­ing leader artic­u­lates a clear and com­pelling vision rel­e­vant to today’s needs yet responds to what is on the Horizon.

Lead­er­ship is a jour­ney. In the Endur­ing Lead­er­ship cer­tifi­cate, par­tic­i­pants will gain the knowl­edge, atti­tudes, and skills nec­es­sary to become lead­ers through the appli­ca­tion of val­ues, SOCIAL STYLE, col­lab­o­ra­tion and orga­ni­za­tion­al change. Learn­ers will explore the dimen­sions of lead­er­ship by prac­tic­ing how to send and receive feed­back, enhance their com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills, and unite a team in sup­port of a shared vision. Par­tic­i­pants will inter­nal­ize the impor­tance of char­ac­ter, strength­en their ver­sa­til­i­ty and become sus­tain­able lead­ers who can go the distance.

Upon com­ple­tion of this cer­tifi­cate, stu­dents will be able to:

1. Eval­u­ate exist­ing per­son­al assump­tions about lead­er­ship in light of a grow­ing aware­ness of the respon­si­bil­i­ties and prac­tices of endur­ing leadership.
2. Under­stand the vital con­nec­tion between val­ues, char­ac­ter, and leadership.
3. Apply knowl­edge of both self and oth­ers’ social styles to enhance inter­per­son­al and group communication.
4. Demon­strate an under­stand­ing of team dynam­ics to effec­tive­ly align a group’s efforts around a shared vision, mis­sion, or goal.
5. Assess indi­vid­ual and team per­for­mance through obser­va­tion and empow­er­ing feedback.
6. Con­nect the key com­po­nents of per­son­al and orga­ni­za­tion­al change to effec­tive lead­er­ship practices.
7. Design an action­able plan for a per­son­al or com­mu­ni­ty devel­op­ment plan to be imple­ment­ed after leav­ing the mountain.
